Internal Program Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing daily support to Program Manager/s to include:
  • Work order updates and follow up
  • Updating tracking matrices as required
  • PM task updates
  • Quote breakdowns
  • Attend Weekly Production Meetings
  • Review DLR and help maintain accurate and effective schedule
  • Attend design reviews (meeting note recording)
  • Develop tryout skills and attend post T1 tryouts
  • Maintain TCL for accuracy & completion
  • Update PROJ’s whenever new build quotes are change or EC quotes are approved
  • Generate RFQ for grain, surface treatments (hardening) or tryouts
  • Pre-delivery process compliant
  • Update trucking log as required for tool moves & make shipping / part labels as required for each tryout
  • Ensure customer checklists are generated & issued to the design & build group leads as applicable to ensure timely completion
  • Ensure customer invoice requirements are copied to the appropriate directory (cert sheets, pictures, CMM report, design, etc)
  • Complete QvB documentation for both phase 1 & 2
  • Review of the tool budget on LLF programs to help ensure we do not proceed past the funded dollars / status level
  • Review of milestones & progress reporting on status
  • Develop skills to manage complete Projects to include:
  • Manage assigned programs/ customers from tool kick-off through life of Program
  • Daily communication with Customers and WMG Engineering/ Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues related to part and tool designs, open issues, part concessions, feasibility, timelines, etc
  • Schedule and obtain phased design approvals with customer
  • Schedule and attend tool tryouts and issue work orders to shop through tool de-bugging stage – identify all issues noticed at tryouts so they can be addressed first time around – even if customer did not see/identify as an issue from the outset
  • Complete Tryout Scorecard
  • Manage tool budget – weekly review of budgets on all active tools – ensure tools are within budget and report to the Sr PM on any deviations outside of normal cash burn rates
  • Quote engineering changes, obtain POs and kick-off of changes
  • Ownership of timing with Internal follow-up to ensure delivery commitments and customer requirements are met – to include: daily review of DLR, ensuring tool progress is tracking on time through all manufacturing phases, daily PM task updates and Milestone Updates
  • Attend monthly PM meetings to review the PM KPIs and report out on Tool Budgets
  • Demonstrates knowledge on the customer, the commodity, and the specific job
  • Follow, adjust, and help maintain accurate and effective schedule
  • Identify weakness and coordinate additional training opportunities.
  • Managing lessons learned and communicating back to the team.
  • Responsible to continually develop and grow your personal skills as well as the department’s objectives.
  • Wilfully attend workshops, seminars and training sessions as required.
  • Must embrace and support the advance and implementation of new technologies.
  • Adhere to WMG policies and procedures.
  • Ensure WMG’s housekeeping standards are met by keeping all files and electronic drives organized, ensuring main areas are clean, and reporting any problems to Maintenance and I.S. department in a timely manner.
  • Be a team player & a positive force by creating & maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction by consistently providing personal memorable service to all internal team members, customers and potential clients.
  • Other duties as required

  • 1 – 3 years of program management experience with plastic injection molds
  • Moldmaking and design experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with proven knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - verbally and electronically
