The Automotive Components Division of Windsor Mold Group is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Process Engineer responsible for establishing a robust and repeatable injection molding process and completing correlation from theoretical to practical. As well as be the lead member to coordinate and review Moldflow simulations, participate in pre and post tryout meetings and lead the trial for DOE for process proveout.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and leads Mold flow development for all new programs
  • Leads Material Engineering activities
  • Calculates critical processing parameters for new products including residence time, tonnage, barrel and screw compatibility and drying requirements
  • Develops a stable, capable process that meets all customer requirements
  • Supports Program Management, manufacturing and quality functions through milestone events as required
  • Participates in continuous improvement and DOE events and assists with resolving chronic problems at various locations
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots production process concerns by ACD plant request
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma Plastics or Mechanical preferred
  • RJG Master Molder 1 or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Injection Mold Processing work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with conducting Mold Flow analysis
  • Experience leading/supervising a Process team is an asset
  • Working knowledge of injection molding machine function (starting up a machine and set up process with end of Arm), and injection and scientific molding processes
  • Working knowledge of General Tool Components and Function and General Part Design Guidelines
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficient in basic Measuring Tool Function and Basic Fixture and Dimensional Interpretation
  • Proficient in Basic CAD Software Function NX preferred
  • Proficient in Material Data Sheet Interpretation
  • Knowledge of resin morphology, fillers, additives and physical properties
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be eligible to travel and work in the United States
  • Ability to travel overseas if required
