The Automotive Components Division of Windsor Mold Group is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers. The Material, Planning and Logistics Manager, at Emrick Plastics, is responsible for the overall supervision, planning and implementation of daily purchasing, shipping and receiving and scheduling operations within the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains consistent operating procedures for the purchasing, shipping, receiving, warehouse, material handling and scheduling functions and ensures adherence to these procedures.
  • Provides overall supervision of MP&L employees including warehouse, shipping, receiving, material handling and scheduling employees. This includes employee selection, training, development, mentoring, assessment and discipline as required.
  • Manages and achieves inventory goals (turns and dollar values). Maintains accurate inventories (location, quality, and count) and use records to know inventories at all times.
  • Reviews and interprets releases and communicates to production management
  • Ensures production materials (raw and components) arrive on time to meet production schedules
  • Provides forecasts to suppliers to ensure the right mix of inventory is on-hand when needed.
  • Coordinates and maintains volume ramp-up and balance out procedures.
  • Determines the number of trucks needed for shipments.
  • Develops strong communication links with customers relating to shipping requirements including containers, cardboard, quantities and timing.
  • Ensures ASNs are accurate and amended as per procedure when required.
  • Ensures the warehouse layout is organized, with an emphasis on visual management.
  • Ensures that goods received are properly documented, inspected and stored in the appropriate areas.
  • Manages the shipping process by ensuring loads are prepared, labeled and scanned in accordance with Doc locations.

Education/Qualifications
  • University Degree or College Diploma or work related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of MP&L management experience
  • Experience in an Automotive environment an asset
  • Experience with MRP/ERP software, EDI, OEM communication tools and all Microsoft applications
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
