Duties and Responsibilities

  • Programming and operating a CMM, using NX and CALYPSO software;
  • Utilizing a range of measurement equipment and automation including laser scanning;
  • Support in establishing and evolving formal QC processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
  • Review the design and GD&T to determine what we should be checking;
  • Provide assistance in analyzing problems, report and follow-up;
  • Has a focus on the needs of the customer and drives for results.
  • Continually monitor Windsor Mold inspection standards with key team members to ensure all processes and procedures are followed and provide value to our customer.
  • Provide Machining/APG Manager feedback for any schedule issues or conflicts;
  • Adjust work process when necessary to meet production schedules and maximize work flow through the CMM ensuring sufficient resources are available to complete tasks in the timeframe required.
  • Analyze quality-related issues in the mold CMM measurements and root cause back to the manufacturing process to drive process improvements.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in the manufacturing departments and provide value-added measurements and/or services to support the Continuous Improvement team.
  • Work with cross functional team to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner and to the desired level of quality;
  • Meet with mold makers to determine what and when something can come to CMM;
  • Complying with master schedule;
  • Maintain dates and information in the project log;
  • Preparing inspection reports and colour maps for internal and external use;
  • Reporting results to relevant departments;
  • Ensure that all reports are clear, concise, and timely;
  • Maintain organization of QC directories;
  • Manage the core and cavity analysis KPIs
  • Coordinate CMM steel checks with the Mold Making department leaders
  • Ensure all checks are done to WM and customers standards.
  • Follow up on Out Of Tolerance issues, reports, fixes and re-checking.
  • Organize, Audit, and Analyze results of operational checklists.
  • Prepare Control Plans.
  • Organize relevant KPI data from operational checklists.

  • Strong working knowledge of injection mold tool construction and manufacturing processes
  • Mold making experience an asset
  • Multi-color / material tooling / design experience an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for their work
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data.

  • Works well in a team environment as well as individually
  • Knowledge of GD&T an asset
  • Previous CAD and metrology experience
  • Experience with NX and CALYPSO software
  • Background in plastic injection molds for the automotive industry
