Customs Compliance and Purchasing Coordinator

The Automotive Components Division of Windsor Mold Group is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Customs Compliance and Purchasing Coordinator to be responsible for Windsor Mold Group's Automotive Components Division customs and compliance reporting as well as various production purchasing responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • First line of contact for all WMG ACD Customer and Supplier custom compliance items – internal and external.
  • Review and approve all documents submitted to customs agencies in the US and Canada
  • Work closely with WMG ACD Customs Broker to ensure we are kept up to date on any issues and/or changes to legislation
  • Utilize customs brokers software to streamline all internal processes
  • Ensure commodity database is always up to date
  • Conduct audits in various departments and plants to ensure compliance is being met
  • Ensure WMG ACD Customs Manual is always up to date and perform any and all training internally as required
  • Update all customer websites with current certificate of origin information – on current parts and future parts
  • Analyze and categorize spend with our customs broker
  • Focus on servicing internal customer base including Engineering, Accounting and Plant Operations.
  • Responsible to ensure accuracy of purchasing records within ERP system as well as the training and roll out of ERP improvements at all facilities
  • Work on service pricing quotes for the Purchasing Department
  • Production Buying Responsibilities for one ACD Facility.
  • Selection and sourcing of all suppliers where applicable, including contract negotiation.
  • Works with Plant Personnel and Program Managers during launch
  • Responsible to ensure accuracy of purchasing records within ERP system as well as the training and roll out of ERP improvements within the purchasing areas at all facilities.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned or required, including backup of current Purchasing Department during vacations/absences

Education/Qualifications
  • University Degree or College Diploma combined with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent technical computer skills and superior communication skills are essential.
  • At least 3 years of customs experience is required, including a clear understanding of customs compliance
  • Automotive Experience is required
  • Plastics knowledge is beneficial.
