Lead Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Our Precision Plastics facility in Windsor, ON has an immediate opening for a Lead Shipping and Receiving Supervisor responsible for the overall supervision, planning and implementation of daily purchasing, shipping and receiving, and scheduling operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains consistent operating procedures for the purchasing, shipping, receiving, warehouse, material handling and scheduling functions and ensures adherence to these procedures.
  • Provides overall supervision of MP&L employees including warehouse, shipping, receiving, material handling and the scheduling of these employees. This may include employee selection, training, development, mentoring, assessment and discipline as required.
  • Administrative duties include proper reporting on Manbase of all inputs and outputs, SPOC monthly reports, update schedules per customer releases, submit SMART# usage folder to accounting.
  • Pro-actively applies lean and other processes and technologies to meet department and plant production goals; increase efficiencies and reduce operating costs.
  • Pro-actively investigates, learns, prepares and implements solutions to inventory, delivery, cost and quality issues.
  • Reviews and maintains inventory levels through the ordering of components, raw materials, corrugated packaging and wood pallets by sending weekly releases for the current two weeks and weekly forecast to the suppliers.
  • Develops strong communication links with customers relating to shipping requirements including containers, cardboard, quantities, timing and ensuring Customer Portals are reviewed daily and actions are taken when required.
  • Ensures 5-S standards are applied to the warehouse operations.
  • Monitors the shipping process by ensuring loads are prepared, labeled and scanned in accordance with Doc locations.

Education/Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • University degree or College diploma an asset
  • 3 years Supervisory Experience
  • Experience in an automotive environment an asset
  • Experience with MRP/ERP software, EDI, OEM communication tools and all Microsoft applications
  • APICS Certification or program enrollment an asset
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with various stakeholders
